“The Poem,” Poems
by Blacks
Falling back into myself—
This is the history of a poet
Who lost himself in a crowd
Of tangents over a man.
I lost it bad over him—
I couldn’t get my muse to
Fucking come, it kept on
Backdropping in subtime.
Finally he came and—
The black spirits flowed
Outta Zu, Come on baby,
Outta Zu baby into me.
No more cumly refusal—
No more toying around
I needed his innerself bad
I needed the poem to cum!
