The Night Dances

A sigh sinks into the sheets—
Irretrievable!
The way you used to look at me—
It’s no longer there
_______________________
The world goes on forever—
Does it ever empty of beauty?
The smell of you once—
Like lilies but now more like lies
___________________
No longer beautiful male—
You lanky calla lily physique
And your long jaguar yawns—
Embellishing your boredom now
____________________
You’ve lost the edge of love—
Your gestures flaky, forgetful
Even amnesia bleeds—
Memories that once stunned me

Men are all the same—
Many-sided monsters of the Id
